Sharon Richey, Seton Northwest ICU nurse:

"(Martha) had the vision and dreams that inspired staff to be the best we could be and more than we could have imagined...
She was gentle in her communications but fierce and stubborn with things she believed in... Nursing is a profession where one needs knowledge, skill, and expertise, which Martha had, but another important part of nursing is to care about the patient, family , and outcome...
Martha advocated collaboration, respect, teamwork, and goals required to obtain optimal care of the patient... So as Martha requests, let us go forth and celebrate her life, achievements, and the magnificient person she was with a remembrance of her smile and spirit."

" Martha was an outstanding critical care nurse. She always went the extra mile to make sure her patients were well cared for and felt secure. Martha wanted to make a difference in the world and she certainly did that. She touched so many lives, and even when she was dying she wanted to comfort others. What a life well-lived!"

                                                                                                     Rosanne Lindsey, RN
"(Martha) cared about what matters most - the patients and the nurses. I can't say enough about what she meant to me"

                                                                                                      Janet Williamson, RN
"Martha was my mentor in the truest sense. She had an inate sense of what is right and conviction to see it to the end. She was a devoted mom, wife, sister, aunt, and daughter. Martha helped me to become a better nurse professional and person."

                                                                                                      Sarah Diedrich, RN
